Statement

My work focuses on the use of found objects and mixed media such as wood, metal and clay in order to explore legacy, memory and place. By utilizing these objects by way of installation, sculpture and two dimensional works, I am able to make connections between universal truths and the unique way that we, as individuals, process them. Using an interdisciplinary approach, it is my goal to facilitate a dialogue at the crossroads where process and purpose converge.

As an artist examining the personal and social construct of heritage and place within the family unit and the world, I use objects and materials from everyday life while interrogating the existing narrative and creating a new record.

It is important to me that my work is approachable and that a relationship can be formed between the viewer and concept. The end result is a familiarity with the objects and theme while compelling the viewer to delve deeper into self-examination and what connects them to their own personal sense of place.
